An American multinational chain of coffeehouses that is the world's largest coffeehouse company. Founded in 1971 in Seattle, it began as a retailer of whole-bean and ground coffee and has since expanded to include a wide variety of coffee, tea, pastries, and other beverages in thousands of locations worldwide.
